Orthodontics

Orthodontics

Orthodontics involves the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of jaw, face, and bite irregularities (also known as malocclusions).

Benefits of Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic treatment provides multiple benefits for patients, including:

  • With orthodontic treatment, patients can resolve common bite problems as a result of misaligned teeth or a misaligned jaw.
  • By aligning your teeth with orthodontics, your teeth become easier to clean, reducingthe risk of developing tooth decay or gum disease.
  • Creates a straightened, aesthetically pleasing smile.

Orthodontic Treatment at Espili Dental

At our office, we provide two main types of orthodontic treatment: traditional braces and Invisalign.

Traditional Braces

When patients think of traditional braces, the first image that comes to mind is large metal wires and brackets. Young adult patients, as well as older adults in particular, often stray far from traditional metal braces due to this preconceived idea of discomfort and distracting aesthetics. However, thanks to advances in modern dentistry, braces are more comfortable and visually appealing than ever before! Traditional braces also remain highly effective when it comes to teeth alignment.

Invisalign

The most common concerns patients—especially adults—have regarding traditional braces is the aesthetic impact of the metal wires and brackets on their smile. However, modern dentistry has allowed the creation of Invisalign, a virtually invisible alignment system that uses clear trays and straightens teeth in less time.

The Invisalign treatment consists of a series of customized trays. Every week, each set of aligners is replaced with a new set as it gradually shifts your teeth into place. These trays are removable, meaning that you can continue to eat and drink normally without restriction.

Whether it’s traditional braces or custom made removable appliances, orthodontics can help you have the healthy, straight, beautiful smile you’ve been waiting for! Give us a call today and schedule your orthodontic consultation!
